Is Chat GPT Free for Commercial Use?

There is a lot of debate going on about the user of chat gpt in commercial space. I couldn’t find the specific answer to the commercial use of chat gpt.

However, as per the discussion on the community forum, it is allowed for commercial use but with a lot of ifs & buts.

You need to confirm with your country’s laws and chat gpt commercial use guidelines before going ahead with chat gpt commercial use for free.

Also, the responses generated by chat gpt could be copyrighted to someone, and it is illegal to use the copyrighted content without proper credit or permission.

What is Chat GPT Plus?

Chat gpt is free like I said before but has certain limitations. It has a premium version as well that aids the financial needs of the company to keep this beautiful tool alive.

Chat GPT Plus or GPT -4 is a paid version that costs $20 per month. This is a recurring amount that a Plus subscriber has to pay to keep using chat gpt Plus.

Chat gpt plus users have several advantages such as the availability of tools even during peak hours when normal chat gpt users may face problems in accessing chat gpt.

The chat gpt plus users are given first preference for any new update.

Also, the responses generated with chat gpt plus are faster and better.

Apart from it, the plus users will have access to code interpreters, plugins, and browsers which are in the beta phase though.

Free Vs Paid –

The choice is yours, if you are looking to use chat gpt for light use and don’t want to spend money, you can use chat gpt for free.

With the chat gpt free version, you will have access to the basic gpt-3.5 version that has limitations, and standard speed while generating responses, and the updates will be available to you as when the company releases for free users.

However, as a paid member, you will have to pay $20/month but you will gain access to the latest GPT-4, the advanced version, priority access, access even during peak hours, and access to beta features like plugins, browsing, and code interpreter.

How long Chat GPT will be Free?

It is hard to say. However, in my view, the basic chat gpt -3.5 version will always remain free.

But since it has limitations, the benefits would be limited as well.

Who Created / Made Chat GPT?

The chat gpt was created by Open AI; an artificial research firm that was established back in 2015 together with Altman, Elon Musk, and other known personalities.

Open AI is a non-profit organisation and has several products such as DALL-E, GPT-4, etc. Check our other post on who owns chat gpt.
